Why ‘Come on In’?
An extension of the Bible teaching ministry of Her God Speaks, Come on In is a space for me to to think out loud, share what I’m learning in real time, ponder questions that defy easy answers, and say whatever I’d say if we were sitting around my kitchen table. (I apologize in advance for all the chicken recipes). If the Her God Speaks Podcast is me all dressed up with my hair and make-up done, this newsletter is me au naturel in my stretchy pants and a favorite t-shirt with a very unimpressive messy bun sticking out of my head. (How come everyone else’s messy buns look so cute and I look like a drowned rat? Huh?!)
Kitchen tables are for being real and raw, for throwing out questions for which there are no easy answers, for sitting in the tension and hearing each other out while you reach for another slice of cake. They’re for making space for people you love to celebrate, grieve, pray, think out loud, evolve, and on those blessed occasions - laugh their heads off. They’re for encouragement giving, truth reminding, theology pondering, and “oh my gosh you guys, I found the best thing EVER at Target!” telling. I hope you’ll find this newsletter to be all of those things.
